Nothing is more irritating than endless prattling on about what strategies the GOP should or should not use to attack Barack Obama. Today, MSNBC had four different segments on the topic. Newsflash to MSNBC: If you're going to spend every broadcast trying to figure out how to attack Barack Obama, then it's not something the GOP is going to have to worry about.
Also, Eric Boehlert at Media Matters compares the media's obsessions with testicles (Jackson's nuts comment) with the media's indifference to McCain's Social Security disgrace. I've seen some complaining about the Obama campaign's press operation, including an over-the-top Daily Kos diary today, but it's worth remembering that the Obama team is up against a press infrastructure that is biased for McCain.
Are there thing they could do better? Sure. There's always room for improvement. But let's not forget what their up against, either. There's a reason why it was a lot easier to get traction on attacks against Hillary Clinton than it is to do the same with John McCain, and it has nothing to do with staffing: it's all about journalists.
