Cokie got her kooky smear from the GOP
Well now we know where Cokie Roberts got the idea to smear Barack Obama over his vacation in Hawaii: the Republican Party.
As discussed in PERRspectives over the weekend, the Republican Party sent out an e-mail mocking "Barack Obama'sHawaii Travel Guide." The DNC got ahold of the e-mail, which was sent to reporters on Friday. Here's a screenshot:
So now that we know that Cokie Roberts was reading straight from the Republican talking points, let me offer them a reminder: they have absolutely no moral standing upon which to make light of anyone's golfing activity...especially after George Bush lied about having given up the game to show solidarity with the troops in Iraq:

Off-topic: Also a quick housekeeping note for the small number of you who check the site frequently during the day -- I probably won't be making a post for awhile (several hours). I've got an idea for a video that I'm working on so I'm hunkering down. (No promises, but it might be good.)
