What a day

Apparently, good things come in threes:

  1. Bill Clinton delivers the best speech of his post-presidency, laying out the terms of this election in no uncertain terms, and offering an unequivocal endorsement of Barack Obama and his qualifications to be President of the United States of America.
  2. John Kerry delivers the best red meat speech of the convention, tearing apart John McCain for his cynicism and bad judgment and his devolution into a clone of George Bush.
  3. Joe Biden delivers a fantastic acceptance speech, deeply personal from the very start. He placed Barack's life story squarely in its true context, America. He laid out the theme of the change we need versus more of the same. And he directly challenged John McCain's judgment on national security and said that 8 years of Bush-McCain policies have made us less secure.

Just think about all the talent we have at the top of the Democratic Party. Add in Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama -- and let's not forget a guy named Barack who made a suprise appearance. (NBC said they'd teased it, but I had no idea it was coming, and was pleasantly floored.)

This is a strong Democratic Party, and we're on the right side of the issues in this election. We're going to win this, and we're going to win it because our country -- and this world -- needs us to win. We have no other choice. We cannot fail. We must succeed. We will succeed.
