Maybe this will put the nail in "bipartisanship's" coffin

So Baucus is finally out with his plan, and he's desperately seeking support. It's a much more conservative plan than other Democratic proposals -- no public option, more insurance company giveaways. If it doesn't win over significant Republican support, can we finally give up even the pretense of bipartisanship?

I mean, I'm all for getting Republicans on board a good bill. But it's the good bill that needs to come first. We shouldn't let Republicans hold good policy hostage just because they want to score political points.

These people...and yes...some dems are anti-Obama just for the sake of being anti-Obama. I'm more frustrated w/the blue dogs than I am w/the repubs. The repubs are doing what they ALWAYS do.

But the dems who want to be career politicians are the one's tickin me off. What happened to doing what's right for America? With a single vote these guys sent soldiers into harm's way because they believed they were doing the right thing. What happened to them falling on their swords for the country's sake, and passing a bill that actually puts citizens FIRST instead of their careers?

I read that Baucus showed his plan to the insurance companies lobby before he did the White House.....I don't even know if the White House even saw it because now he is saying that there won't be any final markup until next week!!! What a cad!! oh here's where I got that info from

Yahoooooooooooooooo! You're back!!!!!!!

Frankly, I'm with Grayson. I really don't care if the Republicans have any say in the healthcare bill. They haven't provided any constructive input anyway. I say to hell with them and move on. Oh, I suppose a bi-partisan bill is a feather in someone's cap but at what cost? More lives lost? More families going bankrupt? More suffering on top of the economic problems we're all facing? This is an opportunity for the democrats to make a REAL difference in the lives of American families. Like Grayson said; Republicans can lead, follow or get out of the way.

You know it's really ridiculous that politician would allow the "uninsured" American public to suffer just to keep the knife fight going in Washington. Democracy my a$$!!
